Day 19

Feel free to skip this post, as I'm sure a blog about a weekend in a French town is not very exciting. Hopefully, tomorrow, we will be back to stories of rivers and saddles, and steep hills and winding routes.

We are on the third floor of a town centre apartment block. The pedestrianised street with the market stalls and shops is just two minutes away, and looking down from our floor, I can check our bikes are still in the hallway shackled to the stair rail:

We visited St Peter's Basilica, which was filled with sound as someone was playing the biggest church organ ever.....

The stained glass windows were magnificent, something I couldn't recreate in a photograph, but you get the idea ....

Later, Ann wandered round the craft stalls, whilst I sat outside (along with several other husbands). Apparently, it was really good

Many people were admiring the flowers on this house; again, it was something that probably looked better if you were here!

The big dilemma tomorrow, is whether to start early or late. The weather has turned this weekend and showers are around. We think there will be a dry patch here before 9, and then a chance that the rain will be spreading from the north. As we are heading south, we think an early start, 8ish, might give us an hour before the rain starts catching up with us. Below is our actual route off the sat nav. We are at the dot that ends with a 37. Tuesday morning we should cross into Switzerland. :-))
